RENT034 - stone cold blacked out eyes down gear >>>

Been I while since I went a little deeper. Didn't plan it - the plan was actually to make some music like Autechre but with the weight and groove to stand up alongside other club tracks (I've failed before - check Polygraph). So it started v complicated and noisy and after recording about 5GB of various jams with various FX chains and generative stuff I needed to strip it back. It became Laminar Flow - stripped back electro but still with choice tweaky bits and real sense of emotion - not quite melancholy, not quite sexy, not quite alarming, just a sense of *something*

I'm not a Max/MSP don like Rob and Sean so I homemade my own AE synth, speeding up and slowing down a tiny little 'tick' sound so it sounded like a rhythm or a note, depending on how fast it was repeating, so it kind of snakes around the grid for a bit in 16ths and triplets and whatnot and then later on in the track I speed it up crazily to get something like a synth note.

The intro is a dystopian sci-fi sound design fest designed to transition from any previous tune or to start a set with, but is actually mixable as well once u hear it >>>

I'm really pleased with the mixdown for once - a nice tuned kick always does wonders :)
